Reconnect
Do you notice if you’re feeling down, you disconnect from people around you? I know I have that tendency. The best way to thwart this though is to reconnect with the people around you.
I’ve found great solace in some of my friends, family, and church community that I never knew would been supportive of me in my troubles until I approached them and sought some comfort. I was forced through other individuals to start to share my story and reconnect with people. The good news is that it worked. I was able to not be ashamed of the divorce issues I was going through, and realize that I’m not alone, that other people have their own stories; and how valuable it is to get things off your chest so that you can remain positive about other issues in your life.
We can’t dwell on the negative, this will eat us alive and not let us function with a positive mindset and for me, an outgoing personality. I walked around with my shoulders down and probably looked as miserable as I felt to others. Luckily, others recognized that “look” and helped me get out of my funk.
So, reconnect with people. Make a conscious effort to do so and this will make a huge difference for you in times of trouble, need, and even desperation.
